
Firstly, we would like to take this opportunity to apologise for the time it has taken to communicate changes to our users regarding our car park. Your support and loyalty of our facility is something we are truly grateful for and on behalf of AUT Millennium we would like to thank you for your patience. We have a unique organisation that supports a diverse number of users and balancing the needs for each has meant considerable time has been spent discussing alternative solutions regarding the parking at our facility.
As from 3rd February a user pay parking system will take effect.
Pay by Plate parking will commence from Saturday 3rd February 2018 and the hours of operation are from 7.00am – 6.00pm Monday through Sunday. For more information on our parking changes please visit our website or view questions that may assist make the transition easier.
When will paid parking start?
Paid parking will be introduced Saturday 3rd February 2018
How much will it cost to park?
Most car parks offer 90 minutes free per day with a cost of $2.00 per hour thereafter. All day parking will cost $10.00 Please remember to enter your details. Even if you are parking within the free period you will need to enter your number plate details at the payment machines. For convenience, we have designated an express parking area located at the front of the National Aquatic Centre. These parks have no free period and payment must be made from time of parking. We also offer a number of accessible parks which have no charge.
What are the hours of operation?
The hours of operation are from 7:00am – 6:00pm Monday to Sunday. All parking outside these hours will be free.
Is there reserved parking?
Yes. There is reserved parking for accessibility pass holders, Rangitoto School students, medical clients and athletes. Please refer to our parking map detailing these areas.
Do I need to pay for accessibility parks?
Yes. Regular rates apply to accessibility parks.
How do I pay for parking?
Paying for parking is easy, simply follow the instructions outlined on one of the six machines located around the car-park and at the facility.You will need to enter your number plate details before selecting the amount of time needed.Credit or Debit cards can be used at all machines. For all cash or EFTPOS payments there will be two machines located at the entrance to the National Aquatic Centre and AUT Millennium main facility.
Do I have to enter my number plate details?
YES. Even if you are parking during the free period, you will need to enter your number plate details. Cars who are parked and have not registered at a payment machine will be issued with a breach notice.
What happens if I don’t enter my number plate?
Every car parked at AUT Millennium needs to be registered at a payment machine and this includes those parked less than 90 minutes. Users who do not enter their number plate details are in breach of the car parks terms and conditions.
Can I get a receipt?
E-receipts will be available. Simply use the four digit pin offered by the machine and follow the instructions to register online.
What is Pay by Plate (PbP) parking?
PbP is an eco-friendly parking system that records number plates instead of printing tickets.I regularly use AUT Millennium facilities for less than 90 minutes.
Am I able to preregister my number plate details to avoid putting them in every day?
No. Unfortunately we are unable to preregister your vehicles number plate and you will need to enter your details each visit. This includes visits within the 90 minute free period.I am a pool / Gym member who swims early in the morning.
If I am leaving before 8.30am, do I still need to enter my number plate details?
Yes. We know it’s early, but if you are parked inside the operating hours of 7.00am – 6.00pm you will need to register your car, even when leaving the car park before 8.30am.
